Overview
We are seeking a Crisis Management and Business Continuity Technical Advisor to join our Corporate Emergency Management & Continuity Division within the Planning & Technical Support Department in Oil Supply Planning and Scheduling (OSPAS) Organization.
The Corporate Emergency Management and Continuity (CEMAC) Organization is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and enhancing business continuity, crisis management, and resilience programs in Saudi Aramco and its group of companies. Its objective is to ensure sustainable resiliency that protects Saudi Aramco's interests, minimizes business disruption, and reduces reputational risks. It also manages incidents involving Saudi Aramco interests that could cause significant loss of life, property, reputation, or business interruptions.
Your primary role is to contribute to the corporate frameworks governing, developing, executing, maintaining, reviewing, and enhancing crisis and continuity management programs to ensure Saudi Aramco’s operational resilience during crises.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be required to perform the following:
- Provide expert advice on implementing, maintaining, and enhancing business continuity, crisis management, and resilience in company operations.
- Develop, maintain, and improve policies, strategies, plans, procedures, manuals, and systems related to business continuity and crisis management (e.g., Enterprise Governance, Risk, and Compliance: eGRC).
- Review and assess proposals related to corporate initiatives for business continuity and crisis management requirements.
- Evaluate crisis and continuity management capabilities and identify areas for improvement.
- Design, develop, implement, test, and improve business continuity and crisis management programs.
- Implement and maintain frameworks, systems, and processes for business continuity and crisis management.
- Conduct site visits to review and assess crisis and business continuity compliance and maturity.
- Develop and execute company-wide programs to ensure compliance with external frameworks.
- Assess the effectiveness of risk management programs and frameworks.
- Develop and execute complex drills and exercises to test crisis and continuity plans, and prepare reports and presentations for management and committees.
- Develop and maintain corporate communication plans for crisis management, and establish testing protocols with stakeholders.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and mentoring to team members.
- Manage and maintain business continuity data within the eGRC system, ensuring accuracy and timeliness to assess performance and identify improvements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, fire protection, environmental occupational safety, industrial safety, business and management, emergency management, crisis and disaster management, or related fields. An advanced degree is preferred.
- Professional qualification in Crisis Management and/or Business Continuity Management (e.g., CBCP, BCI, DRII, FEMA/EMI).
- Over 10 years of relevant professional experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role in Business Continuity or Crisis Management, preferably within the oil and gas industry.
- Strong knowledge of standards such as ISO 22301, 22361, 22310, and 31000.
- Experience with Enterprise Governance, Risk, and Compliance (eGRC) systems.
- Experience in emergency management, safety, health, project management, IT, risk management, and governance practices.
- Advanced digital skills, including proficiency with tools like Microsoft Excel, Power BI, PowerPoint, GIS tools.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle crisis situations.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, including with senior management and external partners.
- Leadership skills to coordinate cross-functional teams within a large organization.
