Job Summary

The Crew Optimization Analyst is responsible for overseeing and assisting with the planning and optimization of day to day resources including but not limited to reserve allocation, open time management, and pairing analysis and enhancement.

The Crew Optimization Analyst is responsible for overseeing and assisting with the planning and optimization of day to day resources including but not limited to reserve allocation, open time management, and pairing analysis and enhancement.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and track the monthly reserve type allocation, reserve availability periods (RAPs) and day to day reserve changes.
  • Analyze open time trends and identify areas of improvement that should be addressed by the management and planning teams.
  • Prepare reports analyzing trends for reserve utilization, release, and conversion. Recommend and implement schedule optimization strategies based on findings.
  • Prepare comparison reports for planned pairings vs. completed pairings and analyze scheduling trends with regards to pairing construction and completion. Provide necessary insight to the Planning Analyst for pairing optimization.
  • Generate reports and conduct data analysis on various operational trends as assigned, including but not limited to absenteeism, flight delays, cancellations, and duty extensions.
  • Work closely with Network Planning to manage any time-sensitive schedule enhancements or changes.
  • Respond promptly to inquiries, managing sensitive information in a confidential and professional manner, using discretion and judgement.
  • Perform continuous audits and adjustments of daily Crew Schedules in accordance to Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) and Porter FOAG.
  • Manage the Fatigue Safety Promotion Group for Flight Operations.
  • Actively participate in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including, reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operation; understand, comply with and promote the Company Safety Policy.
  • Other Duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year of experience in Crew Scheduling, Crew Planning, or a related aviation operations role.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) Part 705, including crew duty and flight time limitations.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Drive), with the ability to analyze data and create reports efficiently.
  • Experience with Navblue N-OC or other crew management systems is an asset.
  • Exceptional multitasking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Proven ability to analyze complex operational challenges, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions while maintaining seamless day-to-day operations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and convey information clearly.
  • Flexible and adaptable, willing to work shift schedules, including evenings, weekends, and overtime as required.
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and proactive, with a strong work ethic and a commitment to operational excellence.
