Position Details:

Position: Full-Time Security Team Lead

Site: Credit Valley Hospital - 2200 Eglinton Avenue West, Mississauga

Averaging Agreement: Overtime is under Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours

Hours: Rotating Continental (0600 - 1800 / 1800 - 0600)

Payrate: $23.98/hour (based on leveling system)

Posting Date: May 15th, 2025

Internal Closing Date: May 21st, 2025

External Closing Date: May 29th, 2025

Schedule Example:

  • Week 1 - Days: Mon-Tues, Fri-Sat
  • Week 2 - Days: Sun, Wed-Thu
  • Week 3 - Nights: Mon-Tues, Fri-Sat
  • Week 4 - Nights: Sun, Wed-Thu

Job Details:

The Security Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the daily activities and job performance of the Security Officers assigned to their shift. The Team Lead is expected to represent Paladin Security Group as well as the facility they are assigned to.

  • Provides leadership, direction, and ongoing coaching and training
  • Ensures all site staff adhere to all Paladin Security and hospital security policies and procedures
  • Ensures all Security Officers have received the mandatory training
  • Motivates staff and recommends commendations to their Supervisor
  • Ensures proper documentation is passed onto the Supervisor/CSM
  • Documents and investigates security incidents and complaints
  • Communicates any concerns/issues with Supervisor/Client Service Manager
  • Works on assigned shifts, providing proactive and reactive security patrols and responses to incidents in the mental health ward
  • Writes reports and investigates routine incidents
  • Responds to coded emergencies quickly and efficiently
  • Displays excellent customer service skills and works with people under stress or in need of medical assistance
  • This role requires physical fitness to stand and walk for long periods
  • Works closely with vulnerable populations
  • Monitors for and escalates security concerns within the Emergency Department
  • Assists in developing security plans for high-risk patients
  • Provides security presence and support throughout the Emergency Department
  • Utilizes verbal de-escalation techniques to manage conflict

Certification Requirements (All):

  • Immunization record for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, and Varicella, and two-step TB skin test
  • Proof of immunizations for TB, MMR, Varicella
  • Valid Security License
  • Minimum of 1-year security experience
  • COVID double vaccinated
  • Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Valid Certification in First Aid, CPR, and AED
