Job Title: Credit Specialist II
Department: Administration
Reports To: Chief Credit Officer
Status: Non-Exempt
Salary Range: $51,000 to $69,000 ($24.51 /hour - $33.17 /hour)

Position Summary
This position is a full time non-exempt, non-officer position that requires excellent customer service skills and an ability to multi-task and work well with multiple teams. This position will assess the creditworthiness of individuals and/or businesses applying for loans with Timberline Bank. Building upon the foundation of a Credit Specialist I, this position involves more complex analysis, greater decision-making authority, and additional responsibilities in portfolio management and risk assessment. This position will collaborate closely with senior management and lenders to ensure prudent lending practices, regulatory compliance, and credit analysis.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Must be proficient and be able to perform all essential duties and responsibilities of the Credit Specialist I. In addition, this position will:

  • Be able to identify credit risks and/or credit deterioration that can be presented for discussion with Consumer Lenders, Business Bankers,
    and Chief Credit Officer.
  • Prepare financial reports for, and collaborate with, Consumer Lenders and Business Bankers to prepare loan request presentations and
    structure loan terms and conditions for approval.
  • Utilize advanced techniques to critique and analyze borrower's cash flow projections and affects of market conditions on the borrower's
    financial condition and potential stress-testing scenarios.
  • This person will be well-versed in Timberline Bank's Loan Policy, Abrigo (loan underwriting system), and other programs utilized to
    complete their duties, while providing guidance and mentorship to Credit Specialist I's on policies and procedures.
  • This person should have a strong understanding of consumer compliance rules and regulations as set forth by the regulators and
    Timberline Bank and the ability to work with our subject-matter experts when complicated issues present themselves.
  • Perform job functions in compliance with all company policies and federal and state rules and regulations as applicable to the position.
  • Under the direction of the Chief Credit Officer and the Chief Risk Officer, draft and maintain appropriate internal controls and policies.
  • Actively participate in training sessions and other professional development activities to enhance their own job knowledge and skills, and
    those of a Credit Specialist I.
  • Cross train with the construction draws team to process and approve consumer and commercial draw requests.
  • Detect suspicious and fraudulent loan applications.
  • Lead or assist with projects that consist primarily of credit administration issues.
  • Update Internal Controls and prepare and present appropriate training.
  • Duties may be expanded on as experience and professional goals are achieved.


Required Knowledge and Expertise

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Obtain/Maintain Credit Analyst Certification.
  • Obtain and/or maintain Consumer Compliance Certification.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in financial analysis, including the ability to interpret complex financial statements and assess credit risk.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market, project, and financial data accurately.
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Must be organized and have great attention to detail.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Ability to multitask, manage priorities, and anticipate potential problems before they arise.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment to collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced work environment.

**Pursuant to the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act and Equal Pay Transparency Rules, the salary range above represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Incentives based on Timberline Team goals may also be offered. In addition, Timberline Bank provides a variety of benefits to full time employees, including health insurance coverage, vision insurance, dental insurance, life and disability coverage, 401K plan, paid holidays and paid time off.
