Your role

Are you independent and self-driven? Do you have sharp analytic skills and are able to handle complex transactions that require enhanced due diligence?

We’re looking for you to:
• evaluate counterparty and collateral credit risks associated with secured lending for Wealth Management clients across Canada
• utilize delegated personal authority (within established risk-based limits) to approve loans
• interact with the business units in relation to transactions to ensure the risk fit UBS's ultimate appetite in the sector
• evaluate transactional risks associated with securities financing, banking products, over -the counter (OTC) and exchange – traded derivatives (ETD)
• prepare a written counterparty credit proposal relating to credit assessment and risk appetite
• monitor credit risk on a portfolio level, perform margin call oversight and take remediation action as per policy

Your team

You’ll be working in UBS Bank (Canada) Main Office in Toronto where transactions will be reviewed for Wealth management clients. This role is responsible for the credit assessment, monitoring, control and transaction decision approval of UBS's counterparties, which primarily encompass private individuals, their wealth management entities, and family offices. You will serve as a Credit Officer focusing on quantitative risk assessment of transactions and counterparty credit analysis.

Your expertise

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related areas
• 5+ years of experience in a similar or related field
• strong analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to identify key risk issues in complex situations and to formulate precise credit assessments and credit recommendations, both in writing and verbally
• prior experience with due diligence and analysis of the financial condition of Wealth Management counterparties
• knowledge and understanding of financial markets, a breadth of trading and lending products and the Canadian regulatory environments
