The SG Internal Group Audit Division (IGAD), comprising over 1,200 professionals in more than 150 countries, independently audits SG’s global operations. A dedicated team of about 60 professionals, SG Internal Audit Americas (“SGIAA”), covers SG Americas from New York, Sao Paulo, and Montreal.

SGIAA conducts independent, objective audits of operational entities, assessing compliance, risk exposure, management effectiveness, and control procedures.

Role & Responsibilities:

This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute as a valuable member of the Audit team and to help establish our presence in Montreal.

The Junior Credit Risk Auditor will be part of the Credit Risk Review Function within the Internal Audit team, supporting assessments of SG America’s credit portfolios, business initiatives, and compliance with regulations. The role also involves contributing to global audit initiatives and innovations.

Candidates should have some credit knowledge/experience and project management skills to meet objectives within set scope and timelines.

Junior Credit Risk Auditors support the planning, execution, and reporting of credit audits, with the ability to assess credit risks under supervision.

Specific tasks include:

  • Preparing clear worksheets supporting credit ratings and profiles;
  • Assisting in preparing reports on risk profiles and asset quality;
  • Informing relevant parties of significant findings;
  • Following up on audit issues and corrective actions;
  • Participating in portfolio review meetings;
  • Identifying process improvement opportunities;
  • Staying informed on industry and credit trends.

Profile & Qualifications:

  • At least 3-5 years of relevant experience;
  • Strong analytical skills for credit assessment and data analysis tools;
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Project management capability to meet deadlines;
  • Collaborative attitude and ability to work independently;
  • Knowledge of credit risk, commercial lending, structured finance, corporate and investment banking;
  • Experience in credit risk management and financial analysis;
  • Proficiency with Data Analytics tools;
  • Knowledge of Internal Audit principles is a plus.

Language: Proficiency in English, both oral and written, is required for collaboration with US colleagues. Candidates must undergo an enhanced background screening, including fingerprinting, due to US Federal Securities law.
