Job summary

BMO Financial Group is seeking a Credit Risk Analyst in Toronto to support end-to-end underwriting, scorecards, and credit approvals. You will collaborate with Credit Risk Officers, Relationship Managers, and Deal Specialists to prepare comprehensive memoranda, ensure documentation accuracy, and drive timely onboarding of borrowers.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• 1-3 years of experience in commercial banking, credit analysis, underwriting, loan administration, risk management, or financial services.
• Exposure to commercial lending, corporate banking, private credit, or credit adjudication processes is preferred.
• Strong financial statement analysis and credit assessment skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Experience working with credit workflow, loan origination, documentation, or portfolio management systems is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Support the underwriting of new credit names for fixed income investments.
• Gather, organize, and analyze company and financial information for credit assessments.
• Conduct preliminary credit analysis, reviewing financials and industry data.
• Draft and prepare credit memoranda and approval packages.
• Coordinate with partners to obtain required information in a timely manner.
• Monitor data quality and document integrity across systems.
• Assist with portfolio reporting, audits, and credit administration tasks.
