Job description

Join our team as a Risk Analyst, Financial at Bird Construction .

Reporting to the Risk Manager, Legal & Risk Management, this role is part of the Corporate Legal and Risk Group, focusing on subcontractor prequalification and supporting the administration of the subcontractor default insurance program. This is a junior role with potential for growth into a more senior position.

This position can be based in either the Calgary or Edmonton, AB office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze potential subcontractors / suppliers to ensure they meet project / contract criteria.
  • Coordinate prequalification for the subcontractor default insurance program.
  • Manage subcontractor performance following established protocols.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding the insurance program.
  • Support tracking notices, documentation, and reporting for insurance purposes.
  • Gather and compile insurance renewal information.

Relationship Management

  • Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and subcontractors, emphasizing confidentiality and diplomacy.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in relevant fields or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in data analysis, financial statements, or qualitative reviews is an asset.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and in a fast-paced environment.
