Primary Purpose of the Position

We are looking for a detail-oriented Credit Manager who will be responsible for analyzing credit data and financial information of companies to determine the risk involved in extending credit to them. In this position, you will evaluate creditworthiness, approve credit limits and terms, as well as communicate with customers to address their concerns and ensure timely payments.

Credit Manager Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with the credit policy
  • Analyze financial data and credit reports to evaluate the creditworthiness of potential and existing customers
  • Ensure denied party screening is completed on each customer
  • Establish credit limits and payment terms for customers based on their creditworthiness and payment history
  • Monitor customer accounts to ensure payments are made on time and in accordance with established terms
  • Communicate with customers to address any credit-related issues and resolve disputes
  • Work closely with sales and customer service teams to ensure efficient and effective credit management
  • Prepare reports and present findings to senior management
  • Supervise credit department staff as needed

Credit Manager Requirements and Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a credit manager or in a similar role
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of credit laws and regulations
  • Knowledge of global credit transactions
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and financial software
  • Experience in Microsoft D365 and/or Syspro ERP is desired
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
  • Experience in credit analysis, risk assessment, and collections
  • Leadership and team management skills
  • Some domestic and international travel required
  • Fluency in English and French is required (both written and spoken)
