Credit-Free Instructor, Continuing Education

Mount Royal University’s Faculty of Continuing Education is seeking industry professionals interested in teaching adults. As a part-time instructor, you will have opportunities to network and gain experience as a subject expert in your field.

Currently, we invite applications for a qualified Management / Financial expert to teach an 'Understanding and Using Financials' course within the Pillars of Management Certificate of Completion program. Courses are contracted on a per-course basis, typically lasting 4 weeks online or 2 days (15 hours) in the classroom.

Responsibilities:
  • Marking and grading assignments
  • Providing timely written and verbal feedback to students
  • Preparing course outlines
  • Facilitating course delivery with approved curriculum and materials
  • Reviewing and revising assessments
  • Applying relevant policies (e.g., academic accommodations, Code of Student Academic Integrity)
Online Instruction Includes:
  • Hosting virtual Google Meet sessions weekly or at least twice during the course
  • Posting announcements and participating in discussion boards
  • Accessing the course daily; reliable internet required
Administrative Tasks:
  • Marking and submitting grades
  • Maintaining contact with the administrative team
  • Participating in instructor and coordinator meetings
Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary or industry credentials in a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in management/financial fields
  • Experience in teaching, training, or public speaking
  • Familiarity with adult education
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Self-motivated and self-directed
  • Knowledge of copyright and APA citation styles
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace; familiarity with D2L is an asset
