We are currently seeking a Credit Analyst II or III to join our Commercial - Calgary team.

Your main responsibility will be to provide administrative and analytical support to our small business advisors, enabling them to focus on enhancing our members' financial health.

Specifically, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Reviewing and analyzing financial statements
  • Preparing credit investigations, security inspections, and searches
  • Collaborating with business Lending Support to oversee credit process advances
  • Preparing credit facility letters for review; assisting in resolving security and account deficiencies
  • Understanding the corporate structures of members (Op-co, Holdco, multiple owners, etc.)
  • Interpreting complex financial statements and consolidating statements when necessary
  • Calculating and analyzing complex ratios to assess creditworthiness
  • Proficiently managing security documentation
  • Understanding and applying standard conditions for both simple and complex applications
  • Completing detailed credit reviews and renewals with minimal supervision, ensuring compliance with credit policies through analysis of account status, repayment history, financial statements, security, debt service, and risk ratings
  • Ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete
  • Preparing credit applications for existing members and providing recommendations
  • Managing the entire application process for simple credits and assisting with complex credits and new member requests
  • Supporting members with loan and deposit inquiries
  • Communicating effectively with members and team members
  • Preparing commercial loan renewals
  • Enhancing member satisfaction by providing assistance, follow-up, and financial advice to recommend suitable products and services
  • Differentiating between credit union and competitor products and services
  • Participating in sales and marketing initiatives to achieve targets

To qualify, you should have:

  • 1-2 years of banking experience as a Financial Advisor or Credit Analyst I/II
  • Knowledge of financial statement analysis
  • A minimum of Grade 12 education combined with practical experience
  • A diploma in Business Administration or Management, with courses in legal terminology or business law, is an asset
