General Job Description

To manage a portfolio of accounts in North America, maximizing receivables turnover and cash flow while minizing bad debt and maintain good customer relations.

  • Key Responsibilities / Areas of Accountability :
  • Responsible for all credit and collection tasks for all of Husky operations for an assigned portfolio.
  • Obtain and analyze credit reports, trade and bank references, financial statements to establish appropriate terms and limits on a timely basis. Monitor account performance against terms and limits and review annually
  • Enforce terms of sale by the continuous identification of past due invoices and taking immediate, appropriate actions required to obtain payment
  • Credit release of shipments
  • Provide timely, accurate and complete data required for preparation of monthly and quarterly reports
  • Prepare periodic statements of account for key customers
  • Respond to customer inquiries, requests for trade references, assist in period end close and reconciliation process, communicate technical issues to sales and manufacturing, provide data required for prompt, accurate posting of receipts
  • Assist in negotiation, justification, approval and administration of special terms.
  • Build good relationships with key contacts at the accounts payable area of the assigned portfolio.

Qualifications

  • EDUCATION
  • University Degree in Business, Finance or related field.
  • RELATED EXPERIENCE
  • 2 years of commercial credit experience (preferred), credit experience in a manufacturing environment would be an asset along with working knowledge of customs and or logistics
  • Specific knowledge, skills and abilities required : Competence with ERP systems, PC-based word-processing and spreadsheet software. Superior oral and written communication skills. Strong time management, organizational, and prioritization abilities. Persistent, persuasive, and enthusiastic personality (self-confident and assertive). Basic internet navigation skills.
