A cultural organization in Barrie, Ontario is seeking summer employees for roles including Graphic Designer, Copywriter, and Video Editor. These positions are aimed at youth aged 15-30, offering hands-on experience in creative fields while operating in a hybrid work environment. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to engage with the community, collaborate with peers, and develop creative skills. The Creative Services team produces creative content to support summer programming and plan ahead for Fall/Winter programming. Working in small groups and serving all departments, youth in these roles develop confidence and master skills in analysis, problem solving, communication, and workplace participation. Our waterfall mentorship model encourages peer learning, with experienced youth helping others and vice versa. These roles are progressive over the summer, offering scope and responsibility based on ability, providing a valuable opportunity to 'level up' in a team setting where your voice matters daily.
Full-time summer employment contracts range from 8 to 16 weeks, from May through September. Post-secondary students are encouraged to apply as part of their co-op or work placement requirements. Contracts are funded by the Government of Canada and offered at the Ontario minimum wage.
This position follows a hybrid work model, combining remote work with in-office or meet-up locations as needed, depending on project demands. In-person work is required for tasks requiring collaboration or supervision. Training and workshops may be online or in-person.

Work Hours:
This role suits individuals who enjoy collaboration, creativity, learning new skills, and engaging with artists and the community. Evening and weekend work may be required.
