Job summary

Capital One Canada is hiring a Creative Manager, Content to lead the development and delivery of targeted content across digital channels, aligning with brand voice and regulatory guidelines. You will partner with performance marketing, social media, and product teams to bring strategy to life through compelling content.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5-7 years of relevant content experience.
  • At least 5 years of proven leadership experience, including building and leading a content team.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, with a strong command of Canadian English including grammar, punctuation and spelling
  • Ability to identify potential issues and recommend and implement solutions
  • Very strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to establish good working relationships with business partners
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and often tight deadlines, and proactively communicate with stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Lead and Develop a Content Team: Lead a team of content creators to produce a variety of marketing materials and customer communications in digital and print channels.
  • Build and retain a strong team of Content Writers and Editors
  • Empower and elevate members of the team, with a focus on engagement with the team and work, and cross‑team collaboration
  • Help to drive team culture by participating in and helping to lead ceremonies and events
  • Collaborate with various business partners, including legal, brand, and intent and product owners, to collect and incorporate feedback at all stages of development
  • Recognize and raise potential issues throughout the creative development process
  • Be accountable – whether directly or through delegation to a team member – for final approval of creative deliverables
  • Facilitate the delivery of 100% quality, error‑free communications
  • Strategy and Planning: Lead and participate in brainstorming and editorial planning, including creating editorial calendars
  • Ensure SEO is built onto our content strategy
  • Advocate for the customer and ensure that communications are accessible and written in plain language
  • Review and provide guidance on marketing materials and customer communications to ensure consistency with Brand Standards, Editorial Style Guidelines and direction from legal and compliance as it pertains to regulatory matters and advertising laws and standards
  • Maintain a deep understanding of all products, including existing marketing and product language
  • Keep up to date on industry trends and technologies, and review competitor content and market trends
  • Understand and stay current with the banking environment and competitor marketing
  • Know the performance of the work we deliver and the business(es) we support and leverage it to influence and optimize future work

About the Team

The Creative Solutions team is the creative engine driving Capital One Canada’s marketing initiatives. We specialize in developing high‑converting, data‑driven creative for performance marketing, paid and organic social media, and SEO‑optimized content strategies. Our team merges breakthrough design and compelling copywriting with rigorous testing and optimization to capture high‑intent audiences and convert them into loyal customers.

About the Role

In this highly collaborative role, you’ll be responsible for leading the development and delivery of strategically targeted content across a variety of communications channels, with a heavy focus on producing content for digital channels to increase audience engagement and consideration. You’ll work closely with business partners, especially focused on performance marketing advertising in our acquisitions channels, and social media, to help bring their strategy to life through our content, while ensuring we’re being consistent with our brand voice and messaging across all channels and all customer touchpoints along the customer lifecycle. Further, you’ll oversee content creators ensuring that our content is compelling, genuine and innovative, and helps bring our brand to life.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Lead and Develop a Content Team:
    • Lead a team of content creators to produce a variety of marketing materials and customer communications in digital and print channels (like display ads, SEM, SEO, videos, our blog, social posts, emails, direct mail and letters)
    • Build and retain a strong team of Content Writers and Editors
    • Empower and elevate members of the team, with a focus on engagement with the team and work, and cross‑team collaboration
    • Help to drive team culture by participating in and helping to lead ceremonies and events

Basic Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of relevant content experience
  • At least 5 years of proven leadership experience, including building and leading a content team, and collaborating with and within a Creative team
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, with a strong command of Canadian English including grammar, punctuation and spelling
  • Ability to identify potential issues and recommend and implement solutions
  • Very strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to establish good working relationships with business partners
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and often tight deadlines, and proactively communicate with stakeholders
  • Proficiency in G Suite, Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Workfront
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A degree/diploma in Content Marketing, Journalism, Communications, or a related field
  • Creative portfolio that includes produced work for website design and integrated marketing campaigns
  • Experience at a large in‑house creative team
  • Experience with premarket and in market testing tools
  • Experience leveraging GAI, personalization and optimization tools in creative development and marketing

This posting is for an existing vacancy. The expected annual salary range for this position is $130,000 to $148,400. This role is also eligible to earn performance‑based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es). Incentives could be discretionary or non‑discretionary depending on the plan.
