With a legacy spanning 55 years, Creative Energy reliably serves over 205 buildings representing more than 45 million square feet of real estate, consistently maintaining an exceptional reliability record of 99.99%. The company is actively advancing 17 new projects, highlighting its leadership role in significant initiatives such as Vancouver's Oakridge Park, which will host Canada's largest geoexchange system, and the ambitious decarbonization of Vancouver's downtown core, electrifying one of North America's largest district energy networks.

Creative Energy has grown significantly in recent years with year over year double digit growth and a strong pipeline of potential projects. With strong long term owners, a proven track record, financial strength, and an experienced team, the organization is well positioned for growth. The organization is now seeking a new Vice President / Senior Vice President, Business Development who will lead the development and execution of an ambitious growth strategy aiming to double the company's size within the next five years.

Reporting to the President and COO, the VP / SVP, Business Development is responsible for developing and executing on the strategy to drive profitable growth for Creative Energy. Working in close collaboration with internal stakeholders, the VP / SVP oversees marketing, origination, front-end engineering, project economics, contract negotiations and investment approval for all phases of the sales process. The VP / SVP will be tasked with refining and expanding Creative Energy’s client relationships and project pipeline, negotiating complex commercial agreements, and strategically navigating emerging market opportunities, particularly in the ‘MUSH’ (Municipal, University, School Boards and Hospitals) sectors.

The ideal candidate is an experienced business development professional with prior experience selling to large, complex commercial and institutional projects. Specific experience with energy transition systems or experience selling complex technical engineered services will be essential. An exceptional people leader, the VP / SVP must be able to develop, coach and mentor a small but growing national team and help shape the culture for the organization as it continues to evolve. The VP / SVP must be highly entrepreneurial, able to balance a highly strategic and visionary approach with the ability to be hands-on and adaptable. The VP / SVP blends business development and sales expertise, technical experience, relationship management, financial and commercial acumen, legal capacity and the ability to develop value propositions and negotiate agreements into one project opportunity.

In accordance with BC’s Pay Transparency Act, the expected base salary range for this role is $225,000-$265,000 plus incentive compensation and benefits but may vary based on the successful candidate.
