Overview

Are you passionate about creating visuals that resonate with the soul — and helping shape a brand that’s redefining mental health and addiction recovery?

AlchemistOne is looking for a multidisciplinary Creative Designer to help elevate our voice, our visuals, and our presence across mobile, web, and social.

This role blends brand and content design, visual storytelling, UI feedback, and even performance creative — giving you the chance to shape a growing company’s look and feel from the inside out.

Who We Are

Our founding team and content creators have all been impacted by addiction and believe in reshaping the world through honesty, open-mindedness, and a willingness to grow. AlchemistOne is more than just a mental health app. It’s a space for self-discovery, healing, and reconnection.

We’re early-stage, remote-first, and obsessed with building things that matter. We move fast, stay scrappy, and support each other with radical transparency and shared purpose.

Who You Are

You’re a visual storyteller and thoughtful builder. You thrive in fast-moving environments, and you’re equally comfortable designing from scratch or iterating quickly on a deadline. You have a good eye, a strong sense of narrative, and a desire to create beautiful, impactful things — even with minimal resources.

You want your work to mean something. To feel something. To help people reconnect with who they are.

You’re not afraid to explore. You want to grow. And you’re ready to be a key player on a mission-driven team where your contributions will be seen, valued, and acted on.

What You’ll Do

  • Design and produce photo, video, and motion content for our social media accounts and ad campaigns
  • Create custom assets — from illustrations to icons — that bring our brand, website, and mobile app to life
  • Collaborate on and evolve our visual identity and tone, ensuring consistency and depth across all touchpoints
  • Provide visual and UX feedback as we enhance our iOS and Android apps
  • Explore your curiosity with AI-assisted tools to enhance the creative process, while staying true to human-first design
  • (Bonus) Build and A/B test digital ad creative across platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and Google

About the Role

This is a remote role, with the freedom to set your own schedule — so long as the work gets done. We care more about what you do than when you do it. That said, we move quickly, and there will be moments when the pace picks up or collaboration needs to happen in real-time.

A motivated self-starter will thrive here. We’re a small team, so your voice will carry weight. You’ll have real autonomy, with regular Zoom check-ins and collaboration tools to stay aligned.

Qualifications

We don’t expect you to be an expert in everything, but familiarity with the following tools will help:

Design & Creative Tools

  • Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects)
  • Figma or Sketch
  • Canva (for rapid prototyping or templates)
  • Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere Pro

AI/Experimental Tools (nice to have):

  • Midjourney, DALL·E, or Adobe Firefly
  • RunwayML, Veo3 or Kaiber (AI-assisted video)
  • ChatGPT or other generative AI tools for creative ideation

Soft Skills:

  • Strong command of English
  • Self-directed with clear communication
  • Comfortable giving and receiving feedback

Eligibility Requirements

This position is funded in part by a youth employment program*. Applicants must meet all three of the following criteria:

  • Be 30 years old or younger
  • Have graduated from a post-secondary (college or university) program in the Graphic Design, Creative Arts area of study (or similar) within the past 24 months
  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person with refugee status

We recognize this narrows the field — but it also helps us offer meaningful early-career experience in a high-impact environment.

What We Offer

  • Creative freedom: Help shape the look, feel, and soul of a product changing lives
  • Real impact: Your work will be seen and felt by real users navigating real transformation
  • Startup speed: Fast feedback, minimal red tape, big opportunity for growth
  • Remote-first: Work from anywhere in Canada
  • Equity potential: Option to extend beyond the contract with ownership in what we’re building
