Duration: 18 months (possibility of extension)

Location: Downtown Toronto or Vancouver Office (Hybrid - currently remote but required to go into office occasionally)

Hours of Operation: Shift 3PM - 12AM

Also required to provide rotational workflow coordination and on-call rotational weekend support as needed.

Reason for Hiring:

  1. Covering a maternity leave for 18 months.

Job Description:

The Creative Design Specialist is responsible for designing powerful presentations, templates, and marketing materials for the Capital Markets business group. Creative projects may include creating bespoke presentations and designing custom graphics or illustrations. The work demands a strong sense of design and creativity with the ability to provide innovative solutions for maximum visual impact. The incumbent will primarily be working in PowerPoint, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, and MapInfo. In addition, the incumbent will assist with special projects and provide insights on opportunities within the team to leverage technology to refine operations.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Create cutting-edge presentation designs, banner ads, invitations, newsletters, and other visual communication for internal and external meetings while ensuring compliance with brand standards and consistency across multiple mediums.
  2. Transform generic text-heavy presentations into visually appealing layouts and infographics.
  3. Search photo and vector stock galleries to fulfill requests for infographics/digital photos for invites, presentations, and other marketing materials.
  4. Produce accurate and high-quality work while ensuring all assigned projects are completed on time and adhere to brand standards.
  5. Create interactive forms based on client requirements for editing or file sharing.
  6. Create maps with asset and location details.
  7. Responsible for quality control of assigned projects and execution of design strategies.
  8. Collaborate with team members on complex or special projects.
  9. Handle sensitive and/or confidential documents and information.
  10. Think creatively and propose new solutions.
  11. Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to increases in efficiencies.
  12. Perform other related duties and assist with special projects as assigned by management in response to the company’s needs.
  13. Effectively interpret service requests to ensure the client ask is met.
  14. Accurately track, code, and log all incoming projects into the project management proprietary CRM application.
  15. Maintain and upgrade the skills needed to effectively perform role duties.
  16. Provide training to staff as requested.
  17. Provide rotational workflow coordination and on-call rotational weekend support as needed.

MUST HAVE REQUIREMENTS:

  1. 2-5 years of Graphic Design/Desktop Publishing experience in a fast-paced corporate environment; investment banking preferred.
  2. Fluidity in a PC environment.
  3. Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat DC).
  4. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for advanced document production; PowerPoint presentation experience is essential.
  5. Solid knowledge of print production and pre-press.
  6. Demonstrate graphic design skills with a strong portfolio.

  3. Ability to systematically manage a heavy workload and meet tight deadlines.

  6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  7. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  8. Comfortable working independently and within a team environment with minimal supervision.
  9. Ability to convert multiple file types from one platform to another.
  10. Must be flexible to work various shifts, overtime, and weekends as required.

Education:

  1. Post-secondary education in Graphic Design or equivalent experience.

Interviews:

  1. Initial interview with Team Leads – virtually via MS Teams.
  2. Assessment test after 1st interview – schedule time (PowerPoint, Excel, Word & Design) and send it off.
  3. Final interview with Manager virtually via MS Teams.
