Job Overview

Jardeg is recruiting a Ticketed Crane Operator Journeyperson for Suncor Firebag Capital projects team on site near Fort McMurray, Alberta. This is a temporary position starting May 29th until June 29th, with a rotation of 6 and 1, 12 hours per day. These are fly-in/fly-out positions with camp accommodations.

Crane operators control and operate cranes to lift, move, and position heavy materials or equipment on construction sites or in industrial settings.

Responsibilities
  • Manipulate pedals and levers to operate cranes, including rotating the crane and raising/lowering the boom and load lines.
  • Drive the crane to the site, rig the machine, and prepare for operation.
  • Conduct pre-operation inspections and ensure equipment is in good condition.
  • Follow safety protocols and Suncor’s safety standards.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
  • Assist with loading and unloading materials.
  • Follow proper rigging and lifting techniques to ensure safety and prevent damage.
  • Maintain records of crane operations, maintenance, and inspections.
  • Adhere to environmental and safety guidelines.
  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on cranes.
Minimum Requirements
  • Experience operating a 100-ton hydraulic mobile crane or similar equipment.
  • CSO (Common Safety Orientation)
  • ESC Approved Fall Protection
  • H2S Awareness via Energy Safety Canada (if no ESC H2S Alive)
  • Wood Buffalo Wildlife Awareness Basic via Energy Safety Canada
  • WHMIS 2015
  • Journeyperson certificate (must be in good standing)
  • Valid Full Class 5 Driver’s License with no restrictions
  • 3 Years Driver’s Abstract
