The Deck Crane Operator position involves operating platform deck cranes, Pipe Deck Pipe Handlers, and gantry cranes. Responsibilities include assisting the Deck Supervisor with crane work and pipe deck activities such as offloading and backloading support vessels.

  1. Provide leadership with a safety-first attitude and own safety standards.
  2. Perform daily inspections of cranes and equipment prior to use.
  3. Enforce company and client policies, standards, and procedures.
  4. Promote operational excellence through procedural discipline.
  5. Follow the client's daily drilling and lift plans.
  6. Maintain crew morale and order.
  7. Ensure competency programs (ATO and ACO) are followed.
  8. Comply with client competency requirements.
  9. Follow emergency response plans during drills or emergencies.
  10. Load and offload supply boats with necessary equipment.
  11. Transfer materials and equipment across the platform.
  12. Assist with preparation of tubulars, tools, and equipment.
  13. Perform additional duties as directed.
  14. Understand equipment capacities, procedures, and limitations.

Minimum qualifications include:

  • High School diploma

  • Ability to obtain offshore/onshore certifications
  • Preferred experience in the oil industry

  • Operations related to dropped objects prevention, tubular management, cargo logistics, and crane supervision
  • Certificates in Rigging, Slinging, Banksman, Crane Operator Stage 3, ROCMC, RORC-A
  • Effective communication skills in English
  • Reasoning, following directions, understanding rig and tubular equipment
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems, hand and power tools, and safe lifting practices
  • Ability to meet safety standards and standards set by regulatory bodies
  • Willingness to travel and work 12-hour shifts on a rotational schedule
