Job description

The Edmonton Police Service, in cooperation with other agencies and the citizens of Edmonton, is integral in preserving the quality of life in our community by increasing public safety and security. Reporting to the CPIC Support Supervisor, we are seeking a CPIC Support Training & Administrative Coordinator to support training consistency within the CPIC Support Unit. This role ensures new trainees receive structured classroom training for a minimum of two weeks, with extended training if staffing levels require it. The ideal candidate will also provide backup support to the CPIC Support Supervisor and assist with various operational responsibilities:

  • Conduct structured classroom training for new trainees, ensuring consistency and quality in onboarding.
  • Extend operator training as needed before trainees join their designated teams.
  • Provide backup support and technical assistance for the CPIC Support Supervisor.
  • Offer additional coverage during break times/lunches or integrate into short-staffed teams when training is not required.
  • Update and maintain the OneNote training manual and ensure accuracy in reference materials.
  • Manage the CPIC Support email inbox and respond to inquiries efficiently.
  • Support the Niche UA changeover, revamping the OneNote reference manual with updated screenshots and content.
  • Assist CPIC Supervisors with JO Warrant requests, facilitating charge requests in court.
Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Incumbents must complete a CPIC training course within two (2) years of appointment.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience within a Police/Court environment or a specialized area including experience in data entry and retrieval from data bases. Experience in radio communications is an asset.
  • Experience in training facilitation or administrative coordination within a structured environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal customer service skills and effective communication (oral and written) skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Proficiency in OneNote and document management systems.
  • Familiarity with CPIC processes and law enforcement databases (preferred).
  • Strong reading and comprehension skills.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including the bending, lifting of banker boxes, etc.
  • Proven ability to make sound judgments in a high-pressure environment and remain calm in stressful situations.

Hours of Work:
40 hours per week, rotating 12-hour shifts to provide 24-hour coverage, 7 days per week.

Salary Range:
21B, Salary Grade: 008, $24.82 - $31.10 (Hourly), $1,985.90 - $2,488.70 (Bi-Weekly), $51,832.51 - $64,955.59 (Annually).
The rates quoted are in accordance with a collective agreement between the Union and the City of Edmonton.
