Job summary

Demo CPA Alberta is seeking an experienced CPA with at least five years of Canadian public accounting experience who can independently manage a portfolio of small-business clients. You will oversee client files from start to finish, communicate directly with clients, identify tax and accounting issues, manage deadlines, and provide practical advice to business owners.

In this role you will handle R&D tax considerations, prepare compilations, year-end statements, T2 corporate returns, T1 personal

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of Canadian public accounting experience.
• Ability to independently manage a portfolio of small-business clients.
• Strong client communication and advisory skills.
• Ability to identify tax and accounting issues and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manage a significant client base of owner-managed business clients and clients with substantial investment portfolios.
• Prepare and review compilation engagements and year-end financial statements.
• Prepare and review T2 corporate income tax returns.
• Prepare and review T1 personal income tax returns.
• Handle GST/HST filings and related issues.
• Assist clients with CRA inquiries, reviews and correspondence.
• Provide practical tax and accounting advice to business owners.
• Review bookkeeping and working papers and identify required adjustments.
• Manage client deadlines and ensure information is obtained and files are completed on time.
• Communicate directly with clients regarding their accounting, tax and business matters.
• Supervise and provide guidance to junior accounting and bookkeeping staff where required.
