Become a CPA ALBERTA FINANCIAL LITERACY VOLUNTEER

Are you a CPA passionate about giving back? Become a Financial Literacy Volunteer and utilize your expertise to strengthen financial knowledge across Alberta.

In collaboration with CPA Canada, this initiative delivers free, engaging workshops and resources designed to improve financial decision-making skills for individuals and communities. Volunteers help create a lasting impact by making financial topics accessible, practical, and empowering.

As a Financial Literacy Volunteer, you will:

  • Deliver engaging, pre-developed workshops to a variety of audiences, including students, seniors, newcomers, low-income individuals, and small business owners.
  • Share practical knowledge on topics such as budgeting, credit fraud protection, saving, and planning for retirement
  • Inspire confidence and help others gain control over their financial future

How it works:

  • Sign up, and you will be added to the Financial Literacy volunteer pool
  • As sessions are requested by the public, email invitations are sent to the volunteer pool in the geographical area that the sessions are requested in
  • Once you receive an email, you can choose to accept sessions based on your availability, on a first-come-first-served basis

We will provide:

  • Ready-to-use presentation materials and resources
  • Training and support from CPA Canada
  • Opportunities to connect with other CPA volunteers

What we are looking for:

  • CPA in good standing
  • Passion for community service and financial education
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Time spent preparing for workshops may qualify as verifiable continuing professional development (CPD). Whether you are a seasoned presenter or looking to build new skills, this is a meaningful way to give back and use your expertise!
