Court Security Officer, St. Croix, Virgin Islands

Join Walden Security as a Court Security Officer, St. Croix, Virgin Islands. We are seeking experienced officers to provide armed security for courthouses under the USMS contract.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Perform entrance control: operate security screening equipment, check items such as handbags, briefcases, and other personal belongings.
  2. Perform roving patrols: monitor court facilities and grounds according to post orders.
  3. Perform stationary post assignments: monitor security systems, courtrooms, judge chambers, and jury rooms.
  4. Escort duties: provide armed escort for judges, court personnel, jurors, and others as directed.
  5. Garage parking and pedestrian control: direct traffic and control lights on court property as per procedures.
  6. Enforce law and order: detain unauthorized persons, prevent acts that threaten safety, and uphold federal law during duties.
  7. Prepare reports and records: document incidents, accidents, and other relevant activities.
  8. Court attendance: secure courtrooms, inspect prior to proceedings, and test security devices.
  9. Preserve order: maintain security presence, enforce federal and judicial orders, and protect court proceedings.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED; at least three years of verifiable law enforcement or military experience with arrest authority within the last seven years.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; interpret rules and procedures.
  • Valid driver's license, safe driving record, and Department of Justice clearance.
  • Completed certified law enforcement training; able to provide certification.
  • At least 21 years old; pass pre-employment drug and background checks.
  • Meet medical standards specified by USMS; accommodations available for disabilities.
