Description: Elementary Education : A study of science programs and teaching strategies appropriate for providing elementary school children with an appreciation of the nature and method of science inquiry.

Teaching Qualification Requirements (TQRs)

• Education 1.MA in a relevant field (i.e., science education) and/or extensive relevant experience as a school educator/pedagogue/community educator 2.PhD or equivalent in a relevant field is an asset

Experience

• 1.Expert knowledge of: Elementary science pedagogy, as outlined in the course description Research on elementary science pedagogy Research on elementary students’ scientific thinking and practice
• 2.Experience as a master teacher/instructor science, mathematics, or a related field in the Quebec educational system
• 3.Knowledge of the Quebec Education Program (QEP)
• 4.Familiarity with the professional competencies specified by the Ministère de l’Éducation

Other

• 1.Previous successful experience teaching similar course(s) at the undergraduate level
• 2.Knowledge of the impact and proven record integrating pedagogical approaches anchored to equity, diversity and inclusion
• 3.Familiarity using myCourses, ZOOM and other similar online platforms to facilitate quality teaching and learning experiences
• 4.Familiarity teaching blended classes is an asset
• 5.Familiarity with the application of a variety of digital teaching and learning tools
• 6.Familiarity of and/or experience with the practice-based pedagigies in science teacher education is an asset.
