The Engineering Strategies and Practice (ESP) program within the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering is an award-winning design, communication, and teamwork course that trains first year engineering students to solve real world problems. Reporting to the Director, First Year Office, and working closely with and receiving direction from the Course Administrator and Student Project Coordinator, this position is part of a teaching team of ~80 individuals who undertake the challenging task of executing this course for ~1200 students each year.
The Course & Educational Technology Assistant provides administrative and technical support to the Engineering Strategies and Practice(ESP) program, which includes: providing front-line response to requests for information; designing and administrating the learning management system (Canvas/Quercus); attending lectures in-person to facilitate active-learning activities; maintaining the course Microsoft Teams sites and Piazza; providing resource and troubleshooting of course technologies; assisting with the preparation of course materials, tests and correspondence; entering and updating course information and grades; attending meetings taking comprehensive and accurate minutes, and assisting with other duties as relevant for the course.

To be successful in this role you will be:
Work location: For the first six months, this role will be 5 days per week in office for onboarding, but afterwards the role is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement, pursuant to University policies and guidelines, including but not limited to the University of Toronto’s Alternative Work Arrangements Guideline.
