Compensation

Teaching Assistant, Course Coordinator, and Lab Demonstrator positions are paid according to qualifications:

  • Employees without a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the undergraduate rate - $22.04 per hour (effective September 1, 2024).
  • Employees with a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the graduate rate - $34.73 per hour (effective September 1, 2024).
  • Additional duties as a Teaching Assistant will be compensated at the appropriate rate.
Duties

Reporting to the Department Chair or Course Instructor, duties include overseeing course sections, coordinating staff, assisting in marking schemes, and other related tasks as required.

Qualifications
  • Must be enrolled in or have completed a postgraduate degree or an Honours Degree in Physical Geography or equivalent. Consideration given to students with at least 13 credits in an Honours Program.
  • Completion of 4 credits in Physical Geography with an average of 75% or higher, including GEOG 1F91 or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated successful undergraduate teaching or leadership experience.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to meet deadlines.
