Overview

The University of British Columbia is seeking a Course Coordinator for Data Science/Extended Learning to lead course and program-level processes, develop assessments, and support curriculum development within the Computer Science department.

Responsibilities
  1. Provide academic advising and supervise teaching assistants.
  2. Maintain course materials and manage technical platforms.
  3. Create grading rubrics and troubleshoot technical issues.
  4. Develop course materials and act as a content advisor.
  5. Assess and recommend new software tools for teaching and assessment.
  6. Report academic misconduct and assist in policy development.
  7. Support course development and coordinate related projects.
  8. Communicate with course staff and manage logistics.
  9. Handle student registration, grades, and scheduling.
  10. Participate in TA evaluations and support administrative tasks.
  11. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • University degree in a relevant discipline with at least two years of related experience.
  • Willingness to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Preferred: Experience as a teaching assistant in computer science at UBC, leadership skills, technical proficiency with assessment tools, programming skills, and effective communication abilities.
