Position Summary:

Provides a positive image to Gordon Food Service (GFS) non-commercial customers through courteous, on-time, and accurate deliveries of GFS products. Acts as a liaison between GFS management and customers, communicating issues and concerns. Operates GFS equipment safely and professionally, demonstrating attention to detail and working knowledge of refrigerated delivery vans over 10,001 lb GCVW but less than 26,001 lb GCVW.

Works on a Sales Service route as a helper when van loads are unavailable. Must pass the required physical ability test for sales service representatives.

Schedule:

Night shift (Start time TBD), Monday - Friday

Essential Functions:

• Ensure safe, accurate, timely, and efficient deliveries of GFS products.
• Build and maintain good customer relationships; demonstrate self-control.
• Accurately collect customer payments, safeguard company funds, and follow banking policies.
• Perform all Sales Service functions by the 90th day of employment.
• Perform proper equipment maintenance, monitor reefer temperature, and report mechanical issues promptly.
• Complete daily check-ins accurately and timely.
• Communicate customer concerns with management and sales representatives.
• Perform daily pre/post trip inspections of vehicles and equipment, and manage paperwork including registers, credits, and pickups.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues.
• Attend department meetings and perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

• Adhere to safety and compliance regulations.
• Maintain a professional appearance in the GFS uniform.
• Punctuality, problem-solving, and attention to detail are essential.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Goal-oriented with a positive attitude.
• Proficiency in English reading, writing, and communication.
• Physical ability to lift, push, and pull products.

Additional Requirements:

• Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Effective customer and public interaction skills.
• Same professional appearance and punctuality as above.
• Same communication, teamwork, goal orientation, and physical demands as above.
