Job summary

Outlaw Country Ltd. in Calgary is seeking an experienced Country Swing Instructor to lead classes for individuals and groups, covering both lead and follow roles.

You will develop comprehensive lesson plans, provide clear demonstrations, foster a supportive atmosphere, and adapt teaching methods to varying crowd sizes and venues.

Collaborate with the team to organize events, workshops, and performances while staying current with evolving country swing styles.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Country Swing Instructor or similar role.
• Expertise in East Coast Swing, West Coast Swing, and Texas Two-Step.
• Strong interpersonal skills across ages and backgrounds.
• Comfortable teaching in front of diverse audiences indoors and outdoors.
• Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication to convey techniques.
• Enthusiasm, patience, and a passion for sharing country swing.
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends for events.
• CPR and first aid certification preferred.

Stay updated on evolving trends and traditional country swing techniques to enhance instructional content.
Collaborate with team members to organize and promote country swing events, workshops, and performances.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Country Swing Instructor or similar role, with expertise in both lead and follow roles.

In-depth knowledge of country swing dance styles, including but not limited to East Coast Swing, West Coast Swing, and Texas Two-Step.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with dancers of all ages and backgrounds.

Comfortable teaching in front of diverse audiences in both indoor and outdoor settings.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal, to convey dance techniques clearly.

Enthusiasm, patience, and a passion for sharing the joy of country swing dancing with others.

Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required by event schedules.

CPR and first aid certification (preferred but not mandatory).
