Job Summary

The Country Lead, Demand Planning-Canada is responsible for creating and maintaining a consensus demand plan for a dedicated Market/Country and running all processes to ensure forecast accuracy improvement to drive the supply chain performance. You will be responsible for integrating important business intelligence into the demand signal, including data intelligence reports and insights from marketing, sales, and finance, The Demand Planning Country Lead is a vital point of interaction for the sales organization. Each month, this position leads monthly Demand Review with sales senior leadership as well as the weekly Sales and operation execution weekly meeting

Principal Responsibilities

  • Lead demand planning team for one of North America’s market.

  • Maintain 24 rolling months consensus demand forecast at sku level, applying intelligence adjustments from internal and external sources when applicable

  • Manage demand forecast including baseline generation, innovation and other building blocks management.

  • Maintain, analyze & publish monthly forecast metrics; identify and resolve root cause of deviation with the goal of continuous metric improvement

  • Document & challenge forecast assumptions and risks & Opportunities based on the analysis of key internal and external data.

  • Provide detailed, timely forecast reporting across all categories for input to Consensus Forecast Review, Demand Review Meeting and Management Business review.

  • Develop exception reporting to enable identification and management of forecast accuracy impacts and month to month forecast changes.

  • Lead and own process changes and analytical reviews to continuously improve SKU level Forecast Accuracy and Bias, including monthly root cause analysis.

  • Embed processes to support sales team forecast capability to drive enhanced service levels and reduced working capital requirements

  • Contribute to significant projects to transform the operating model, and deliver the benefits required including complexity reduction, Innovation, and working capital reductions etc

  • Provide support for baseline statistical modeling and blocks building to deliver enhanced forecast accuracy

  • Contribute to significant projects to transform the operating model, and deliver the benefits required including gross to net, complexity reduction, cost of goods and working capital reductions etc

  • Lead Sales & Operation execution process for Canada Market

  • Participate and lead the development of a consensus forecast for new item launches from ideation to commercialization in-market.

  • Actively participate in IBP and S&OE processes

  • Work closely with the Supply Planning team to identify and resolve changes in demand forecast; drive solutions to mitigate customer service level risk and lost sales

  • Facilitate prioritization and decision making in case of foreseen product shortages

  • Take the initiative to identify, lead, and establish continuous improvement practices that improve supply chain and company performance.

Education/Certificates

  • University degree with a specialty in Supply Chain, Business, Data Analytics or Engineering discipline.

  • Other useful credentials and training include CPIM and Six Sigma.

  • In depth knowledge of demand planning, preferably from an FMCG environment, with more than 5 years related experience; knowledge of Replenishment and supply planning considered an asset.

  • Skilled storyteller and Strong communication skills and stakeholders' management,

  • Demonstrate high accountability, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a cross functional matrix environment to achieve common goals

  • Proven capability in building strong relationships with key stakeholder and multiple interfaces. And Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.

  • Strong analytical, reporting and organizational skills. Must be detailed oriented and highly organized

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Finance, Operations, or Supply Chain

  • Knowledge of database managing and reporting tools, e.g. Power BI, MS Access.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Advanced Excel skillset.

  • Exposure to Sales and Operations Planning processes ideally in an FMCG environment.

  • Understanding of applicable computer systems such as: SAP APO, IBP is an asset

  • Experience on Leading a team and Excellent leadership capability and a strong team player.

  • Bilingual (French/English) is an asset
