Job summary

IWK Health in Halifax is hiring for Tim Hortons at the IWK, a role combining counter service and bakery duties to create a positive customer experience.

You will be cross-trained as Counter Staff and Baker, support sales, follow baking procedures, and maintain a clean, safe work setting.

This is a permanent hourly position (58% FTE) with shift work from early morning to late night; unionized environment with potential shift premiums and overtime.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
• Recent experience/training in a food service setting required.
• Proven skills in customer service required.
• WHMIS required (or willingness to maintain within six months of hire).
• Food Handlers Course required (or willingness to maintain within one year of hire.)
• Must have demonstrated teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Positive team player and able to work in a dynamic, fast pace environment
• Able to follow standards and direction.
• Competencies in other languages considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Create a positive experience for customers, co-workers and suppliers while working in the store.
• Cross-train as Counter Staff and Baker to support sales and production.
• Follow baking/finishing procedures and maintain production sheets.
• Maintain a clean, sanitized work environment.
• May be eligible for shift premiums and overtime per collective agreement.
