Reporting to the Health & Safety General Supervisor, you will be part of the Health & Safety Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the Environment.

  • Ensure a safe work environment for all project employees, contractors, and visitors;
  • Support Agnico Eagle occupational programs and codes of practice (hygiene, hearing conservation, respiratory protection, GHS (WHMIS), etc.) including sampling campaigns;
  • Promote continuous improvement by improving Health & Safety (H&S) programs and procedures;
  • Provide Health and Safety leadership, guidance and support to all departments;
  • Play a leadership role in promoting a positive Health and Safety culture;
  • Review safety related incidents and ensure appropriate level of investigation is performed and when required facilitate post incident ICAM investigations;
  • Conduct Audits, Job Task Observations, Inspections, and Boots in the Field tours;
  • Participate in Job Hazard Analysis for multiple departments when required;
  • Perform other such duties as may be assigned.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in the Health & Safety field;
  • CRSP or similar relevant education is considered an asset;
  • Eligible for a Nunauvt Supervisor Level 2 Certificate;
  • Industrial Hygeine experience is considered an asset;
  • Familiarity with ConformIT and building LOTO procedures;
  • Previous Mine Rescue experience is considered an asset;
  • Experience in the mining industry;
  • Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.

Note that the official working language at our Hope Bay Project is English.

Your Work Schedule:

  • Schedule: 21 days of work, followed by 21 days for transportation and rest;
  • Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
