The Integrated Day Treatment (IDT) Service within the Access to Care Program seeks a full-time, temporary (up to 18 months) Counsellor/Therapist 2. The IDT serves clients with mood and/or anxiety disorders, often with concurrent substance use, trauma, or borderline personality disorder, in individual and group settings. Reporting to the Clinical Manager, you will join an innovative, client-centered, interprofessional team.

Your responsibilities include conducting assessments, linking clients to community supports, delivering evidence-based treatments (such as cognitive and dialectical behavior therapy), facilitating group programs, managing referrals, and providing individual support. You will also perform behavioral observations, mental status and risk assessments, monitor client responses, document care, and communicate effectively with team members and external providers. Additionally, you will contribute to program development, research, and supervise students. Services may be provided during day, evening, and weekend hours at the Queen Street site.

The ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree in psychotherapy, psychology, social work, or occupational therapy, with at least 3 years of post-graduate clinical experience in mental health and/or addictions. Must be registered with the appropriate College (e.g., CRPO, OCSWSSW, COTO, CPBAO) and authorized to perform psychotherapy. Experience with CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, or other evidence-based modalities is required. Certification in these modalities is an asset. Supervision of students and clinicians is also valued.

Candidates should have knowledge and experience in working with clients with concurrent disorders, mood and anxiety issues, trauma, and evidence-based treatments. Skills in mental status and risk assessments, managing complex cases, and understanding of emergency psychiatry, crisis intervention, and recovery models are essential. Strong communication, organizational skills, and cultural competence are necessary. Bilingualism (French/English) or proficiency in a second language is an asset.
