Le rôle implique la facilitation de programmes et un soutien convenable, sans counseling à long terme. Les candidats doivent posséder un diplôme approprié, de bonnes compétences en communication, et la capacité de travailler en équipe. Un contrat avec possibilité de renouvellement est proposé.

Qualifications

• Doit être membre de la C.C.P.A. ou équivalent et avoir terminé le programme C.C.C.
• Expérience antérieure dans un rôle similaire serait un atout.
• Capacité à établir des relations de travail efficaces.

Job description

The Eating Disorder Foundation of Newfoundland and Labrador (EDFNL) is in search of a skilled counsellor to help provide direction and support to our clients, which includes families and individuals dealing with eating disorders, as well as health and education professionals. The role is one of navigation and support. It does not involve longer term counselling as we are not a treatment facility.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, along with the ability to coordinate with support networks, government resources, and community resources.

The successful candidate will have great facilitation skills and be able to work individually and as part of a team.

What You Will be Doing :

• Acting as client & family advocate by discussing available services
• Facilitating workshops and programs
• Providing appropriate follow-ups with clients and families
• Gathering information about community resources
• Measuring outcomes from workshops and programs
• Building positive relationships within the team and with external partners
• Following new developments in the field by reading professional literature, attending trainings, and establishing and maintaining contact with other agencies
• Advising senior management on new trends and research that will inform future growth and program development.
• Supporting growth and program development
• Developing and implementing a peer support program
• Maintaining confidentiality of records relating to clients and families

What You Will Bring :

• Bachelor's or master's degree preferred in psychology, social work, or counseling.
• Must be a member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (C.C.P.A.), or equivalent; and have completed the Canadian Certified Counselling (C.C.C.) program
• Access to Professional Liability Insurance
• Previous experience in a similar role would be an asset
• Proficiency in the use of Google Drive, Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and the internet, email communication and other forms of media
• An ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with mentally or emotionally challenged persons and their families is a must
• Ability to identify and evaluate possible solutions for our clients
• Aptitude to empathize with clients & families and help them open up
• Demonstrated facilitation skills
• Demonstrated time-management, communication (oral and written) and organizational skills
• Lived experience with eating disorders would be considered an asset
• Bilingual or multilingual considered an asset

About the Role :

• Contractual with annual opportunity for renewal after initial probationary period. Minimum 21 hours per week.
• Hours : Daytime and occasional evening work required
• Compensation : Hourly rate, ranging from $35 to $45
• In office preferred however a hybrid arrangement will be considered for the right candidate.
