To support the continued growth of our Advisory Services in our Americas Region, we are currently seeking a Cost & Risk Advisory Leader based at our Toronto office.

You will lead a diverse team and work closely with clients, providing advice related to the constructability, cost, project development and delivery risks, procurement, and financing of a broad range of infrastructure projects. These projects include transportation, energy, water, and buildings, delivered with a focus on sustainability, decarbonization, resilience, and ESG principles.

  1. Lead teams that prepares various analyses such as cost estimating, life cycle cost analysis, scheduling, risk modelling, means and methods, and constructability assessments.
  2. Being proactive in the market and active in the industry, participating at industry professional events.
  3. To be engaged and play a critical role on some of Canada’s most complex, innovative and city shaping projects.
  4. Capture and understand clients’ needs and requirements through developing compelling proposals to support and deliver their ambitions and outcomes.
  5. Develop strong client relationships through delivery of excellence.
  6. Lead, mentor, and supervise a diverse and growing team.
  7. Actively engage in Arup’s strategy objectives, supporting the region and ensuring commitment to excellence and Total Design.

Is this role right for you?

  1. A minimum of 12 years’ professional experience within the Architecture, Engineering or Construction industry.
  2. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Construction Management, and or a related filed within the built environment. Preferred post-graduate education in either business, construction management, or finance.
  3. Strong experience in infrastructure project development, procurement, construction, delivery and/or operations.
  4. Demonstrated understanding and practical application of Cost Engineering principles is required, in addition to deep technical understanding of engineering and design principles.
  5. Demonstrated leadership abilities to manage multi-disciplinary projects, communicate effectively with team members and clients. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  6. Outstanding quantitative and analytical skills.
  7. Membership in professional organizations such as AACEi.
  8. Strong oral and written communication skills to support leadership activities, including but not limited to client engagements, industry networking, project leadership, team leadership.
  9. Analytical attitude and/or strategic thinker.
  10. Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally.
  11. Strong proficiency in a technical or consulting area derived from professional experience (design, construction, development, owner/public sector, technical consulting, etc.).
  12. Excellent presentation and writing skills are required.
  13. Sophisticated ability with Microsoft Office Suite.
  14. Curiosity about and passion for working in the energy or infrastructure sectors.

Hiring Range - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in Toronto, is $140,000 to $178,000 per year. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Toronto will differ.
