Job description

Reporting to the Vice President, Finance the Corporate Controller will work closely with the Finance Team.

PRIMARY SCOPE OF ROLE
  • Tracking, managing, and forecasting the financial performance of our construction projects.
  • Applying sound decision-making abilities, ensuring that cost, quality, and timeline goals are met.
  • Working closely with project managers, estimators, and field teams to ensure that every dollar is accounted for and every resource is used efficiently.
  • Advising on construction materials and their cost implications.
  • Checking for construction compliance and verifying financial alignment.
  • Ensuring that all financial aspects meet legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Overseeing cost control on construction project from start to finish.
  • Communicating effectively with construction crews regarding budgets and spending.
  • Striving to keep our construction projects financially on track and aligned with regulatory standards.
  • Applying proactive cost control to ensure successful project delivery, from planning to final completion.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • University degree and professional accounting designation (CA preferred) or equivalent work experience.
  • Educational and experience requirements include a relevant degree 5 or more years similar construction cost control experience.
  • Equivalent combinations of training and/or related experience will be considered.
  • Sound knowledge of cost control systems, principles and practices required.
  • Working knowledge of P6.
  • Professional experience overseeing construction project from a cost management perspective.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills and effective interpersonal skills.
WHAT WE OFFER
  • Expected Base Salary: $70,000-$120,000 per year. The actual base salary will depend on several factors including experience, qualifications, internal equity, work location and market expectations.
