The Montreal, Quebec, Canada location is seeking talent to fill the position of Cost Accountant. This is a full-time, permanent position.

Responsibilities

• Perform financial reporting processes, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement close procedures, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Prepare annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
• Conduct costing analysis and provide guidance to mill management.
• Compile grade cost analysis and margin reports for mill management.
• Assist with special projects or assignments as needed.
• Understand journal entries, accounting flows, and operational back-office processes.
• Identify potential risks in accounts and resolve reconciling items promptly.
• Produce detailed documentation of accounting processes and associated flows.
• Identify opportunities for process and internal control enhancements.
• Provide additional ad hoc analysis as required.
• Support procurement operations for the Calhoun facility.

Ideal Profile

• Undergraduate degree in Finance/Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum of 2–3 years of Cost Accounting experience.
• Experience in conducting audits and financial analysis.
• Preferably experienced in a manufacturing facility.
• SAP experience is desirable.
• Strong analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities.
• Proficiency with the full Microsoft Suite.
• Effective communication skills across all organizational levels.
• High ethical standards and safety-mindedness are essential.
