Responsibilities

The Payroll Analyst will perform a variety of payroll activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal controls. Responsibilities include conducting root cause analysis of payroll system issues, verifying payroll program specifications, assisting with system implementation and maintenance, preparing feasibility studies for system modifications, and acting as liaison between payroll staff and IT. The role involves maintaining payroll system audits, supporting external audits, and researching laws and regulations related to taxes and payroll procedures.

Qualifications

Education, Experience, and Training

Required qualifications:

  • High school diploma
  • Minimum of 5 years hospital payroll experience
  • Multi-state payroll laws and taxes knowledge preferred
  • General accounting background
  • Proficiency with Excel or similar tools
  • Experience with JBDev/Kronos or similar timekeeping systems
  • Knowledge of Windows-based office technologies (Word, Excel, Add-ins, etc.)
  • Understanding of Wage and Hour Guidelines and healthcare pay practices
  • Experience with Lawson 9.0.1 or above
  • Experience with union collective bargaining agreements preferred
  • Knowledge of BSI, MHC, and Crystal Report Writer
  • Experience with audits for 401(k), DOL, W/C, and payroll tax reporting preferred

The estimated total compensation for this role ranges from $33.60 to $43.59 per hour, with the exact offer determined based on experience, skills, education, and credentials.
