The Opportunity:
The Corporate Security Officer (CSO) will oversee the administration and coordination of WSP Corporate Security Program and Document Safeguarding. The CSO will also contribute to the development of WSP physical security program in collaboration with other Corporate Services. The CSO will report to the Senior Manager, HSE Incident Response and Emergency Management

What you can expect to do here:
- Ensure that applicable WSP employees follow guidelines as established by various regulatory Government Agencies. Process applications, maintain and update records as required.
- Liaise with internal and external parties to ensure compliance with security regulations.
- Maintain effective relationships with third-party security service providers, law enforcement agencies, and regulatory bodies to ensure the security and compliance of the company
- Prepare required documentation relative to contracts, sub-contracts, site visit requests, etc.
- Prepare, track and audit documentation.
- Ensure that client information is safeguarded and handled as dictated by contract requirements.
- Participate as required in project start-up meetings and conduct Security briefings.
- Train and educate employees on security matters, providing information and guidance on security best practices.
- Collaborate with the human resources, information technology, operations, and compliance departments to ensure an integrated approach to security and asset protection.Provide guidance and act as an advisor to Leaders
- Assess physical security risks and identify potential threats to the company.
- Conduct investigations into security incidents, including thefts, intrusions, data breaches, and acts of sabotage, and recommend corrective and preventive measures.
- Maintain constant vigilance on emerging threats, security vulnerabilities, and new technologies to ensure the relevance and effectiveness of security programs.
- Makes decisions on complex issues/ambiguous matters and provides direction regarding approach and priorities for team(s)
- Decisions have a moderate impact on operations within a segment. Advises management to develop strategies on matters of significance.
- Works with senior professionals/leadership to identify opportunities to develop new processes, tools, and services that impact own project, area of specialization, and/or the department.
- Provides guidance and management advice that has a large impact on cost, efficiency, compliance, service, and quality.
What you’ll bring to WSP:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- 6-8 years of experience in a similar position of high confidentiality.
- Strong knowledge of Security regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to critically evaluate information.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail; excellent organizational skills.
- Willingness to take on new responsibilities yet remain focused on a variety of repetitive tasks.
- Government of Canada Level III, TOP SECRET security clearance (or eligible to meet requirements), will be a condition of employment. (The Clearance process includes reference inquiries, verification of qualifications, criminal record check, credit check and fingerprints.)
- Other security clearances, as required.
- Self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision.
- Advanced computer skills, specifically for use of office automation software such as MS Teams & MS Office Suite, as well as quick learner of HSE Platform.
