As a Corporate Security Guard, there is a high focus on desk duties, scheduled patrolling, and customer service since you will be working with people all shift, in a high-profile corporate environment.

Responsibilities for Corporate Security Guard

  1. Welcome and assist visitors, verify identification, and provide clear guidance while maintaining excellent customer service both in person and over the phone.
  2. Control access at entry and exit points using electronic systems or physical checks to ensure only authorized individuals enter the premises.
  3. Conduct regular interior and exterior patrols of stairwells, hallways, and common areas to establish presence, identify risks, and maintain order.
  4. Monitor and document all security systems and CCTV for suspicious activity or operational issues, escalating concerns when needed.
  5. Inspect and report maintenance needs related to security equipment and facility infrastructure.
  6. Respond promptly to incidents or complaints, provide first aid when required, and coordinate effectively with emergency responders.
  7. Secure identified doors, ensure proper locking procedures, and enforce property regulations and city by-laws at all times.
  8. Protect client assets against theft, vandalism, trespassing, and other safety concerns by remaining alert and proactive.
  9. Document all activities, including incident reports, maintenance logs, and daily reports, ensuring accuracy and timely communication of concerns.
  10. Foster positive staff relationships and act as the first point of contact during emergencies to ensure a coordinated and professional response.

Qualifications for Corporate Security Guard

  1. Be authorized to work in Canada
  2. Hold a valid Manitoba security license
  3. First aid certification is an asset
  4. Exceptional customer service skills
  5. Proficient in basic phone and computer skills
  6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  7. Previous experience as a security guard in a high-profile site (asset)
