About the role:

The Corporate Risk function aligns risk management with the company's vision, mission, and strategy, embedding it within every business segment's practices. Our goal is to combine innovation with practical risk expertise to meet and exceed stakeholder needs in a changing landscape.

This position provides an exciting opportunity for a Risk Analyst to play a key role within Sun Life’s Corporate Risk Operations (CROps) team. The Risk Analyst will collaborate with Corporate Risk partners and Product Owners to advance risk service initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency and effectiveness.

What will you do?
Enterprise and Operational Risk Reporting Framework
  • Assist in developing and maintaining the Risk Reporting Framework
  • Consult on reporting requirements and streamlining opportunities
  • Prepare risk data and utilize automation, analytics software, and tools to inform process owners
  • Support the design and implementation of risk reporting solutions
Risk Policies Lifecycle Management and Governance
  • Assist in managing the lifecycle of risk policies, including preparing reports for senior management and the Board
  • Support Policy Review Group activities and updates
1st line Corporate Risk Management
  • Assist with risk assessments, RCSA, BEQ, PNC, ORE reporting, and KRI management
  • Support Business Continuity and Crisis Management activities
Risk Controls Management
  • Conduct risk control testing and monitoring
  • Maintain and update risk control documentation and matrices
What do you need to succeed?
  • 2-3 years of experience in risk management or process optimization
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Results-oriented team player
  • Attention to detail
  • Willingness to learn
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Preferred Skills:
  • Degree in Business, Management, Accounting, Engineering, or related field (asset)
  • Experience with SharePoint and Tableau (asset)
  • Experience in process mapping and assessment (asset)
  • Market research experience (asset)

The salary range is from $58,000 to $97,000, depending on location and other factors. Sun Life offers various incentive plans based on performance and role focus.
