Job description

Brandt is currently seeking a Corporate Product Manager - Compact Construction Equipment for our Edmonton Construction & Forestry location. In this role, you will become the market leader in the Compact Construction Equipment (CCE) market by providing the best product application support to the Sales Team, ensuring our customers have the best purchasing and post-sales experience.

As an expert on the features, benefits, and product applications for the entire John Deere CCE product line, including attachments, you will work under the guidance of the Director of Sales - CCE and the VP of Sales - Worksite Products. Your role will involve developing and implementing strategies to position Brandt as the leading dealer in the CCE market, increasing wallet share from existing customers and attracting new business.

Duties & Responsibilities

You will collaborate with the sales team to build knowledge of the CCE market, including customer segments, competitive product profiles, and jobsite applications.

  • Assist Territory Managers on sales calls by evaluating customer job scopes and matching needs with appropriate equipment.
  • Create confidence among customers by demonstrating expertise, urgency, and reliability.
  • Provide competitive analysis for all CCE product lines to develop sales tools that increase revenue and market share.
  • Support product demonstrations by ensuring proper machine setup for safe and optimal performance, aiming to convert each demo into a sale.
Training

You will provide and oversee training for all new and existing territory managers, including:

  • Features, benefits, and job-application training
  • Hands-on product operation training
  • Monitoring John Deere University (JDU) course completion
General

You will act as a liaison between the company and John Deere regarding product applications, new product launches, and sales training programs by:

  • Communicating with product application development teams via calls, emails, and video conferences
  • Visiting headquarters and manufacturing facilities in person

You will work closely with management to provide feedback on:

  • Competitive product intelligence and customer feedback
  • Sales team effectiveness and product knowledge
  • Industry trends and buying behaviors

You will assist in rolling out new initiatives across branches, divisions, or regions and support marketing efforts by providing feedback on product features and benefits, and assisting with campaign rollouts.
