Overview

Keyser Mason Ball, LLP ("KMB Law") is a full-service business law firm with offices in Mississauga, Burlington, and Toronto. Our practice areas include Corporate / Commercial, Real Estate and Land Development, Intellectual Property, Franchising, Wills & Estates, Civil and Commercial Litigation, Labour and Employment, Family Law, and Mediation.

KMB Law is seeking a Corporate Legal Assistant with at least two (2) years of experience to assist a working group in our Corporate / Commercial Law practice group.

This position offers an opportunity to collaborate with experienced professionals and gain direct experience in a dynamic and challenging legal environment.

Position Overview

This non-remote position will be located primarily out of our Burlington office. Hours of work are from 9am to 5pm. The successful candidate may be required to work outside of normal business hours to meet business and client needs from time to time.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide assistance and support for daily administrative tasks, as required.
  • Completion and production of client invoices.
  • Assistance with recovery of accounts receivable.
  • Perform conflict checks.
  • File management and coordination.
  • Monitor deadlines and tickler system.
  • Calendar management and coordination.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge and Experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years working as a Legal Assistant or Executive Assistant.
  • Previous exposure to a law firm or professional services environment is highly preferred.
  • Knowledgeable in using and supporting Windows 11, Active Directory, Microsoft Office 2016 or later or MS 365, or other document management systems (Citrix and VPN), and mobile devices (iOS and Android).
  • Familiarity with legal practice group software (e.g., OnCorp, Appara, FastCo) and document management and / or accounting management systems (e.g., ProLaw, Acumin) would be beneficial.
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Proven agility and resilience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Goal oriented, very organized, and willing to take ownership of customer requests.
  • Excellent follow through, attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
