Job description

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Legal, Compliance, and Public Affairs team at Marsh McLennan. This role will be based in Toronto, and it is a hybrid role with a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

As a Corporate Law Clerk, you will be a member of a small, collegial legal and compliance team that supports Marsh McLennan's businesses in Canada, including, Marsh Canada and Mercer Canada as well as functional areas including Human Resources, Finance, Real Estate/Facilities and Compliance. This position reports to the Assistant General Counsel for Canada.

We will count on you to:

  • Review, negotiate and draft client engagement letters, RFP responses and non-disclosure agreements.
  • Manage Federal and Ontario government security clearance programs
  • Corporate Secretarial support for the portfolio of entities, including
    • Minute Book management
    • Drafting resolutions
    • Annual corporate returns and filings
    • Licensing matters
  • Liaise with global colleagues on corporate governance matters


What you need to have:
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of corporate clerk experience at a major law firm or corporate legal department, with the willingness to provide a broad range of legal support in a rapidly paced business
  • Member of the Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and with colleagues within a team environment
  • Proactive and practical approach to risk mitigation and legal problem solving
  • Demonstrated project management skills and ability to excel in a high volume environment.
  • Detail oriented with a high level of accuracy in work product
