Summary/Job Scope

Conduct testing and provide results for the Mortar Equivalent program for VCNA. In addition, the position will support the conducting and testing of trials and studies for VCNA.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Preparing, stripping molds, and crushing cubes.
• Preparing, stripping molds, and measuring expansion bars.
• Mortar Equivalent program testing
• Isocalorimetry program
• Other physical tests as required.
• Weekly routine maintenance tasks as required (filters, greasing of equipment, etc.).
• Calibration of physical test equipment.
• Sand testing and stocking.
• Mini mill processing for cement trials
• Particle Size Analysis of cements
• Staining testing
• Input data into computer system and on process control charts and evaluate when changes are required.
• All other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Post Secondary Education, science or engineering
• Lab Experience beneficial
• Cement or Concrete experience beneficial
• Three to five years’ related experience and/or training; or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
• Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts.
• Equipment/Instrument troubleshooting skills
• Ability to follow and execute procedures
• Knowledge of the most recent version of Windows
• Knowledge of Excel
