Shape the Future with Us – Corporate Development (M&A) Manager

At TELUS, our Corporate Development (M&A) team plays a critical role in driving the company’s strategic growth through acquisitions, investments, partnerships, and divestitures. Acting as an internal advisor and execution partner to senior leadership, we evaluate high-impact opportunities that support TELUS’ long-term goals. As one of Canada’s most active corporate M&A teams, we also help guide post-acquisition integration and contribute directly to TELUS’ strategic pillars.

What You’ll Do

As a Corporate Development Manager (M&A), you’ll be at the center of evaluating and executing key transactions. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting end-to-end execution of acquisitions, divestitures, and strategic partnerships
  • Conducting company and industry research to assess strategic fit
  • Building and maintaining detailed financial models, including FCF, DCF, ROI, and scenario analyses
  • Preparing valuation analyses using precedent transactions, public comps, and other methodologies
  • Managing cross-functional due diligence processes in collaboration with internal and external teams
  • Assisting in drafting executive-level presentations and investment memos
  • Supporting legal documentation through input into agreement schedules and deal summaries
  • Working alongside Directors and Senior Managers; may lead smaller projects independently
Qualifications

  • Strong financial acumen and understanding of corporate finance and valuation methodologies
  • Proven experience with financial modeling and scenario planning
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate insights clearly and concisely
  • Effective at engaging with diverse stakeholders and working cross-functionally

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A strategic mindset with attention to both financial and operational considerations
  • High degree of professionalism, accountability, and results orientation

Great-to-Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Engineering, or a related field
  • 2–4 years of professional experience in corporate development, investment banking, private equity, or similar
  • Progress toward a CPA, CA, or CFA designation; MBA considered an asset

Salary Range: $78,000-$116,000

Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan: 12%
