About the Company

Our valued client is a well-established, family-owned wholesale business serving a diverse customer base in the foodservice and retail sectors across the GTA. We are looking for a detail-driven Corporate Controller to manage and enhance our client’s financial operations, vendor partnerships, and internal accounting practices. Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Management, Analysis, and Reporting
  • Oversee daily accounting operations: AP/AR, general ledger, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning initiatives.
  • Provide actionable insights and reporting on KPIs, variances, and profitability to support senior leadership.
  • Liaise with external accountants for audits, tax filings, and ensure compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations.
2. Vendor and Inventory Oversight
  • Work with vendors to negotiate favorable pricing and payment terms.
  • Monitor vendor performance and recommend process improvements and cost-saving initiatives that support inventory cost control and accuracy.
  • Develop and enforce inventory control procedures and conduct audits to maintain accuracy and prevent discrepancies.
3. Leadership and Team Management
  • Supervise a small accounting team including AP/AR personnel, providing coaching, support, and performance feedback.
  • Set performance objectives, conduct regular reviews, and foster a collaborative and efficient work environment.
  • Support operational decision-making with financial insight.
  • Foster an environment focused on accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
Who We’re Looking For
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
  • CPA or other accounting designation is a strong asset.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally with exposure to wholesale, distribution, or grocery/retail environments.
  • Proficiency in Simply Accounting, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook; familiarity with LOC software is an asset.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and team leadership abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range:
$75,000 – C$90,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications
