Job summary

MLSE Corporate Communications is seeking a student intern to support public relations and influencer relations across Leafs, Raptors, Toronto FC, Argonauts, and MLSE LaunchPad.

You will conduct daily media monitoring, assist at PR events, research media and influencer lists, draft pitches, and compile coverage reports while gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced sports and entertainment environment.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a university or college degree, diploma, or certificate in communications, media, journalism, public relations, or related field.
• Enrolled in a post-secondary co-op or internship program.
• Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and proficient at learning new software.
• Understanding of and familiarity with social media.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; editing and proofreading abilities.
• Solid time management and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask and work independently with high accuracy and attention to detail.
• Able to meet deadlines with strong organizational skills.
• Available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily media monitoring for the Communications team.
• Provide support at PR events and press conferences for all MLSE brands.
• Work on communications initiatives for Leafs, Raptors, Toronto FC, Toronto Argonauts, Marlies and Raptors 905.
• Research and build media and influencer lists for partnership opportunities.
• Draft media pitches and influencer pitches for PR campaigns.
• Compile coverage reports and ongoing results reports for media and influencer initiatives.
• Provide event and PR support at community events for each MLSE team.
