OVERVIEW

The Advanced Practice Nurse – Educator (Corporate Clinical Resource Leader, CRL) is a senior nursing educator role that provides leadership, organizational oversight, and educational expertise to support clinical excellence at Michael Garron Hospital (MGH). This role focuses on enhancing nursing practice standards, fostering interprofessional collaboration, and promoting consistent, high-quality patient-centered care. Responsibilities include developing and providing structured onboarding to new and novice Clinical Resource Leaders (CRLs), building a robust community of practice, standardizing clinical practices, and providing organizational support specifically tailored for CRLs across various clinical programs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership and Support:

  • Develop and implement a structured orientation and onboarding program specifically tailored for new and novice CRLs.
  • Provide organizational support to CRLs, facilitating clarity of role responsibilities, expectations, and clinical practice standards.
  • Foster a supportive environment aimed at enhancing job satisfaction and professional resilience among CRLs.

Community of Practice:

  • Establish and facilitate regular forums and workshops to promote knowledge sharing, peer support, and continuous learning and professional development among CRLs.
  • Encourage active participation and collaboration to build a cohesive team environment.

Standardization and Clinical Practice:

  • Collaborate closely with Nursing – Professional Practice Leader, clinical program leaders and CRLs to ensure alignment and standardization of clinical practices and educational standards.
  • Support the consistent application of best practices in nursing education and clinical practice across MGH.

Evaluation and Continuous Improvement:

  • Regularly assess the effectiveness of orientation and support initiatives.
  • Analyze retention and feedback data to identify opportunities for improvement and recommend strategies to enhance outcomes.

EDUCATION

  • Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Master's degree is required, preferably in Nursing, Education, or a related field.

  • Strong leadership, organizational, and team-building skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proven capability to foster collaborative relationships across diverse professional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives in a dynamic healthcare setting.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in clinical nursing education.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in acute care settings.
  • Demonstrated expertise in adult learning methodologies, program development, and organizational coordination.
  • Good work and attendance record required.
