Job summary

CIBC is seeking a high-potential Associate for Corporate Banking to support Strategic Initiatives and Balance Sheet & Credit Portfolio Optimization. You will report to senior MDs and collaborate across Finance, Risk, Operations and Technology to move initiatives from concept to execution.

Ideal candidates have 2–5 years in related fields, strong financial modeling and data analytics capabilities, and excellent communication to influence cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of experience in Corporate Banking, Investment Banking, Treasury, Capital Markets, Strategy, Management Consulting, or Corporate Finance.
• Experience in corporate lending, portfolio management or capital markets.
• Degree/Diploma in Business, Commerce, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or related discipline.
• Credit training or CFA/CPA/MBA designation is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with advanced Excel, PowerPoint, financial analysis and data analytics.

Responsibilities

• Perform financial, portfolio and strategic analysis; build management reports, dashboards and executive materials.
• Support development and execution of priority initiatives across Corporate Banking, including transformation and operating model improvements.
• Assist balance sheet optimization initiatives and portfolio analytics.
